Vacation on US Gulf Coast, October 2013
This trip was mainly to see critters. It was also
my first trip to the Gulf Coast in 50 years.
- At Homosassa Springs State Park, a
manatee munches its free lunch of romain lettuce
     while Florida's only
     citizen hippo,
     Lu, awaits his own meal.

- Susie tries to sell me one slightly used
     SR-71
     Blackbird
but declines to offer me the
     Mother Of All Bombs
     (MOAB),
which is what I came to the Air Force Armaments Museum to acquire.

- Preparing to board a ferry to cross Mobile Bay, we watch
butterflies hanging out at Fort Morgan.

- Cold-blooded
     killers
at Gulf Coast Gator Ranch dream of their next victims.

- Young
     cranes
are on the move at New Orleans' Audubon Zoo while
     parakeets
congregate at the Aquarium of the Americas.
